This Week's News

It was so good to see all of you again this week at rehearsal.  I forgot how much I enjoy seeing every smiling singing face!  Welcome all our new members too.  We are so glad to have you!

Calendar Updates

Last week I shared an updated calendar for the semester but I realized I forgot to mention the date of our Spring concert!  It hasn't changed.  I just forgot to include it.  So, for clarity, our Spring concert is May 7th at 7 p.m.  Also, we will NOT be having men's ensemble rehearsal next week due to some membership changes.  A final ensemble rehearsal schedule will be shared once the Spring membership has been finalized.

Members in the News

Recently we've had a couple of our own being featured in the community that I wanted to make you aware of as I'm sure they would love your support and encouragement.

1. Grace Helton, McKinsey Smith, and Macy Smith will be performing in Robin Hood  on the stage of Oklahoma Christian Academy in Edmond on January 18-19.  There are 36 homeschoolers performing in this show and from my understanding it is a site to see.  The show is 2 hours long and is not recommended for children under 6.  Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door (if available).  Performances will be Friday, January 18th at 7 p.m. and Saturday, January 19 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.  To order tickets, go to Showclix.com   and search for Robin Hood

2.  Julie Clifford, our accompanist, and her daughters, Karlie and Claire, have entered the Safe Auto "Do the Jingle" contest.  To view their entry and vote visit Safe Auto.  You have until February 28 to vote and may do so as many times as you like.

These are just some great events happening within our own.  Have another event or honor one or more of our members are participating in that you'd like to share with the choirs?  Let us know.  We'd love to boast about how amazing our choir members are!

A few reminders from past posts:

January...Start Recruiting Now!

Following the concert we will have the remainder of December off.  We look forward to resuming rehearsals  on January 8th.  Speaking of January, this is a GREAT time to gather new recruits.  In fact, there will be an open registration for new students to join the choirs from January 8 through the 22.  We'd love to see the choirs grow to over 100.  As such, begin recruiting your friends now.  Invite them to the concert.  Send out an invite to your area co-op.  Tell your friends what you enjoy most about the choirs.   Every student who recruits a new choir member (for any choir) will have the opportunity to enter their name into a $30 iTunes gift card drawing.  So get out there and bring them in!  We'll see you in January!

Tuition Due Tuesday

Just a friendly reminder--tuition for January is due on Tuesday.  If you have any questions concerning your current COHC accounts, please feel free to contact our treasurer, Ann Hankins, at ahankins@centralokhomeschoolchoirs.com.

Bella Voce Tour Update

We are very excited about Bella Voce's tour this year. They are going to get to do some amazing things in Nashville including the making of a recording in a Nashville studio, participating in a national choir competition, and staying at the Opry Hotel! It is definitely going to be a fun trip.

Due to a change in deadlines as provided by our tour company, however, we do need to change some tour deposit dates from those previously published in your Member Handbook. We apologize for any inconvenience, but hopefully with this advance warning you will have time to adjust your savings accordingly.

Here is the final tour deposit schedule and cost:
Jan. 8--Deposit #1 ($250)
Feb. 5--Deposit #2 ($250)
Mar. 5--Deposit #3 ($250)
Total cost of tour: $750

Note: If you would like to pay the cost of the tour in it's entirety on January 8th, you may do so for a $25 discount. Thus, the one-type payment plan for tour would be $725 due on January 8th.

Program Sales
It's a new semester and program sales start over once again.  A few reminders:
  • Ad sales are our only fundraiser this year.
  • Ad sales can be done by everyone (Music Experience thru Bella Voce)
  • Ad sales can be used toward tuition, tour, uniforms, or any other expense incurred through COHC.
  • Ad sales are NOT tax deductible.
  • Ad sales can be sold to almost anyone as long as it is family friendly--a company, a friend, a family member.
  • One ad sale can earn you as little at $25 or as much as $150.  Bella Voce, start thinking Spring and Nashville and traveling fun.  That $750 tour could easily be accomplished with the sale of only 6 full page ads or 10 half page ads.  Get out there sale.  We want everyone to go!
For more information and to download and print a copy of the ad sales form check out our website or click here.
