High School Tour Update
Due to limited participation on this year's high school tour, the cost per student has increased dramatically. While we have no intention of charging more per child for tour and we will proceed to Nashville as planned, unless 6 more students choose to participate OR a significant amount of money is donated by the end of the month, we will have no choice but to forfeit some of the fun activities we were hoping to participate in such as the RCA Recording Session, The Grand Old Opry Show, and lunch on the General Jackson Showboat. While this is unfortunate, money talks. If you would like to make a tax-deductable donation to the choirs with the intent of it being used for tour, we highly encourage you to do so by the end of the February. Or, if you were considering selling some ads for the Spring program, now is the time to sell. Where is all the money going, you may ask? Well, the bus, the contest, the insurance, and the hotel make up $621 your $725-750 (depending on whether you took the early payment option) leaving approximately $116 per student for meals for the entire trip...let alone attractions. As you can see, that is a tight budget.
On March 5th, one way or the other, we will be holding a student/parent meeting for all tour students and their parents at 11:45 a.m. We will announce the final tour schedule and other tour details at this time. It is expected that all students attending tour and at least one of their parents be present at this meeting as some very important information will be shared. Nashville is going to be a blast. It is going to be a tour you won't forget. We just want to make it the best tour possible and to do that we need your help. For more information on tour or how to make a donation, you may contact Ann Hankins, our board treasurer at email@example.com.
