Congrats to Bella Voce, Bravo!, and Illuminati for each earning Superior ratings at the Heartland Festival on Saturday. And Bella Voce for their Judge's Choice Award. They each did a great job and should be so proud of their performances.
Crazy Feet DayNext Tuesday is crazy feet day. Come wearing your crazy socks, crazy shoes, no shoes--you name it! Let's just have some crazy fun. As ways, dress up days are always optional. You are not required to dress up but we look forward to seeing how you dress if you do!
End of the Year CelebrationThis year we are going to end the year with a bang! As such there will be a fun end of the year celebration at Stars and Stripes Park (click the name to see a map) Tuesday, May 13th from 10 to 12 p.m. Mark your calendar now and plan on bringing your own sack lunch for some fun, food, and fellowship.
The board met a little over a week ago and have some exciting news to announce to the choirs--NEXT year we are EXPANDING! Beginning next year the choirs will have 3 rehearsal locations:
- Our current location, our current times (same ol' same ol')
- Bethel Baptist Church in Norman, OK on Wednesday mornings
- First Christian Church in Edmond, OK on Wednesday afternoons
What does that mean exactly? Each location will be learning the same music and we will be coming together for concerts and tours into one BIG choir. It's going to be amazing.
As such we are looking for additional choral directors so if you know of anyone with a choral/music degree who would like to be on the COHC staff, please let Mrs. Lopez know for she will be handling the interview process (firstname.lastname@example.org).

Convention VolunteersBefore I go any further, I am still in need of TWO more volunteer on Friday, May 2 from 2-4 p.m. If you can fill in during this time, please sign up right here and I will kiss your hand later. Okay, maybe not but I would oh so thankful if you would. ;)

Question: Can students be in the booth with you? YES! They just CANNOT be in the both WITHOUT YOU. Having students in the booth would be great! New students often feel so much more comfortable talking with someone their own age anyway.
At the booth there will be information for show, some flyers, and an information sign up sheet. Please encourage all interested to take a flyer (or two to share with friends) and sign the information sheet (this is NOT a registration form) for us to send an email when registration is open. That's it.
You are welcome to the snack tray when it comes around (yes there are incentives for working this table --"wink, wink") and even use a pass for up to the hour after your assigned time to look around the floor (if you are not already attending convention). You just have to return your badge to the table before the next shift starts.
Last year we learned that IF you say you are to work a booth they would let you in without a badge. HOWEVER, you MUST have a booth badge on while at the booth (they will be at the booth). AND, should the be more strict about the badges and not let you in the exhibit hall without one, you can contact Diana Chippeaux (FRIDAY, PM AND SATURDAY; 405-808-2862) or Kathy Gossen (FRIDAY AM ONLY; 405-833-642) who will have an extra pass should you need one to get in. Once called they will come meet you at the exhibit hall entrance. Thus please plan on arriving 10 minutes before your assigned time JUST IN CASE.
