Gatti Town is THIS SaturdayThis Saturday, November 22 we will be having a Gatti Town Social from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a completely optional (but fun) event for our families and students to get to know each other better and have fun together. The cost for the event is $12 per person (if paid in advance) which includes a buffet, drink, and $6 game card. All advance payments for Gatti Town will need to be received by Thursday, November 20. You can pay in advance below.
Don't want to pay in advance? You are still welcome to come too. Just know you will need to pay at the door before entering (~$9 for buffet and drink only).
Want to pay via snail mail? You can download a payment coupon here. Remember when you send in your payment and payment coupon to include the name of the ticket holder and the number of tickets desired.
When you arrive, check in at the large banquet room to join the party! Those who prepay will also receive their $6 game card upon arrival.
No Rehearsals NEXT Week
Just a reminder, we will not have any rehearsals next week due to Thanksgiving. Enjoy the time with your family and we will see you in December.
Family Lounge Reminder
This is just a friendly reminder that we provide a family lounge area for your convenience. That said, we are having trouble with some students treating the lounge area disrespectfully (at our OKC location in particular). As the handbook states: "non-participating children and children fifth grade and under are only allowed in the family lounge with the presence of a parent/guardian." In recent weeks we have had children in 5th grade and under staying in the lounge area unattended, eating popcorn, poking pencils in chairs, moving the furniture all around, and the like. Having a family lounge area at each site is a privilege; should respect for our locations and lounge rooms not be maintained, we will be forced to limit use of that privilege. So please, please remind your students to be respectful of our facilities, and please stay with your kids if they are in 5th grade or below. Thank you.
Registration for the 2015 Choral Experience is Now Open!Registration for the 2015 Choral Experience is now open. What is the Choral Experience? Choral Experience is an event hosted by COHC in which homeschool students ages 8 to 18 from all over the state are invited to sing under the direction of a national composer/clinician on a one-day event. This year's event is on Saturday, March 7th and this year's clinician is nationally known Cristi Cary Miller. The cost for the event is $50 for COHC members and $60 for non-COHC members.
Each participant will receive copies of the music and rehearsal tracks to practice leading up to the event and a t-shirt. While we know it is not possible for everyone, we would love to have all our Principio, Illuminati, and Bella Voce students participate because how often will your child be able to sing under a nationally known composer and with students ages 8-18 from all over the state? It is definitely a memorable event in the making.
Last year was our first year holding the Choral Experience and it was a great success. So many families wrote letters asking that we bring it back because it meant so much to their families and the students involved. So we did! Recordings are even better this year with the voice parts sung by our own directors, and thanks to their help, the music will be available for your child to rehearse almost immediately upon registration! Your children could even begin rehearsing (aka "listening") to their voice parts while you are traveling to family gatherings over the holidays.
So what are you waiting for?
