Choir News cont.--OCHEC Convention and Golf Tournament Meeting

This week we have a LOT of news to share so instead of bombarding you with all of it in one super long email you can expect a few emails spread throughout the week.  This is email four--and hopefully the last until Thursday.  ;)

OCHEC Convention

The OKC OCHEC Convention is quickly approaching (May 1st and 2nd).  If you haven't signed up to participate this year I highly encourage you to do so ASAP as the price goes up on April 1st AND because one of my favorite bloggers/speakers Heidi St. John will be there this year!  Yeah!  You can learn more about the convention and register here.

That said, COHC will be hosting an information booth once again this year, and we need LOTS of volunteers.  You do not have to register for the convention to help out at the information booth, and this is a great opportunity for you to show your excitement and support of COHC to your friends!

At the booth there will be information for show, some flyers, and an information sign up sheet. Please encourage all interested to take a flyer (or two to share with friends) and sign the information sheet (this is NOT a registration form) for us to send an email when registration is open. That's it. 

You are welcome to the snack tray when it comes around (yes there are incentives for working this table --"wink, wink") and even use a pass for up to the hour after your assigned time to look around the floor (if you are not already attending convention). You just have to return your badge to the table before the next shift starts.

Last year we learned that IF you say you are to work a booth they would let you in without a badge. HOWEVER, you MUST have a booth badge on while at the booth (they will be at the booth). AND, should they be more strict about the badges and not let you in the exhibit hall without one, you can contact Cara Segelquist (405-623-0732) or Kathy Gossen (405-833-642) who will have an extra pass should you need one to get in. Once called they will come meet you at the exhibit hall entrance. Thus please plan on arriving 10 minutes before your assigned time JUST IN CASE.

This year we need TWO volunteers for every hour the convention is open.  So yes, you won't be alone!

Can students be in the booth with you? YES! In fact, I encourage it!  They just CANNOT be in the both WITHOUT YOU. Having students in the booth would be great! New students often feel so much more comfortable talking with someone their own age anyway.

Golf Tournament Meeting

We are looking to start a new event with COHC to raise funds for future events and to keep the cost of our tuition rates low--a golf tournament.  

Do you know of a company who might be willing to sponsor a COHC Fundraiser Golf Tournament?

Do you know a golfer who'd be interested in playing in a COHC Fundraiser Golf Tournament?

Would you be willing to help make phone calls or send letters or volunteer on the day of the COHC Fundraiser Golf Tournament (date yet to be determined)?  

If so, there is going to be a parent planning meeting at Diana Chippeaux's on Monday, April 6th at 6:45 p.m.  We'd love to have any and all interested in helping COHC go to the next level to meet and make a plan together.  We need lots of willing hearts to make this happen so we hope to see you there!
