It is with both joy and sadness that I write this e-mail today. COHC has been near and dear to my heart for 6 years now, and I have been so thankful for the opportunities it has afforded me to share my love of music and also help provide for my family. However, the time has come to place that hat on the shelf for awhile as I have two daughters who need my love and time right now, and I want to be ready to give it.
As such, over the next few weeks, you will begin to see a transition from correspondence written by me (Kathy Gossen) to correspondance written by Elizabeth Lopez, who will be taking over as the COHC Executive Director in the 2015-2016 choir year. You may know her best as one of the Bella Voce choir directors. She has been with the choirs for two years and has a strong interest in seeing COHC continue to grow. She is committed to COHC ways, and is more than interested in continuing to provide an excellent choral education for homeschool students.
What can you expect from choir next year as a result? You can still expect quality choral literature. You can still expect highly qualified directors (with the exception of the OKC Bella Voce choir, all directors have expressed a desire return to their posts for the 2015-2016 school year). You can still expect a one day tour, contest opportunities and two concerts. You can still expect rehearsals to be on the same days. And, you can still expect weekly updates. And, you can expect some new exciting things too! I won't let the cat out of the bag, but I think you will definitely be excited to see what Elizabeth will be bringing fresh to the table. I know I am!
All that to say, you will most likely still see me around as we make the gradual transition this fall, but eventually I will become one of you--a choir parent--so don't hesitate to say "hi." I would like that.
Ever a strong advocate of COHC,
