Registration is open until midnight Wednesday, January 18th! If you know of someone who is wanting to get involved with the COHC, their window of opportunity will come to an end this Wednesday at midnight. Send them HERE to register.
Saturday March 25th: The Solo & Ensemble Contest location has been moved to First Baptist Church - Edmond. All Illuminati, Bella Voce students and a few older Principio students will be performing on that Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon will be a concentrated rehearsal time for Illuminati & Bella Voce as this will be the only time all choirs will be able to rehearse together before going to the Heartland Music Festival. And back by popular demand-- a Men's Vocal Clinic for all Illuminati and Bella Voce guys. There is no extra fee for this--it's something the COHC believes is important as we develop strong vocal musicians. These guys will have a time with a local male vocal teacher to guide them through 'the changing voice' and 'male vocal techniques'. Keep reading each week for more details.
Did you know that COHC strives to highlight local composers? In fact, one of the Illuminati songs performed at Christmas was composed by our very own Kathy Gossen. (Keep on composing Kathy!) This semester we have several pieces by Oklahoma composers: “Nebuchadnezzar’s Lament” by Patti Drennan; “My Loving Shepherd” by Michael Ware”; “Festival Gloria” and “Solfege Symphony” by Cristi Cary Miller. We are working with these nationally known composers to come and work with our students on the song(s) they composed.
Don’t forget to turn in Fall music at your next rehearsal!
